My Husband has been offered a job in Malta and therefore I am looking into all the issues that we will need to know about when we move there in January.
We were wondering about the internet speeds in Malta and also the availability? We will be renting an house so if this house doesn't come with internet is it easy and cheap enough to install our own and how fast and reliable can we expect it to be?
Worried about Insuring your home abroad? We have the answer.

Your choice is between Melita and Go.

I use Melita, and their speeds and reliability are good in my experience so far (5 weeks). The speed I have is 60Mbps for 50 Euros/month, with TV and phone included. They go up to 100 Mbps if you need that.

Go are apparently going to roll out an even faster service in the near future, and their TV package includes English Premier League Football.

You can phone Melita up before you arrive, and they will arrange to come to your house the day after you arrive, and set everything up there and then. Just give the engineer 220 Euros deposit.

Go require a visit in person to their Valletta office, according to my neighbor, and they will send someone within a week.
