Hi..first post

This post is to anyone interested in Cricket

My name is Tony and I'm a British expat and lived on the island for about 14 years.

I'm the secretary of the Marsa Cricket Club which is a member of the Malta Cricket association. There are 4 registered teams on the island namely; Marsa, Krishna, Melita and Overseas. The players consist of Maltese, British, Australian, Indian and the odd Kiwi's...

We play at the Cricket oval situated in the Marsa Sports Club. Also, there is a Cricket Nursery which is aimed at the kids.

We playing many touring teams (Harrow School, Stockport Grammar School, Trent College, Hurstpierpont School) to name but a few. We also organize Summer and Winter leagues for the 4 local teams

If anyone is interested in playing, watching, scoring, umpiring etc..then give me a shout..

Hi I had a guest over form UK who plays in a local team of cricket... nothing special and he joked about bringing his team over next year. Are you into hosting 50+ ??

Sorry for the HUGE delay..I've been so busy at work and cricket etc..

Our team range from early 20's to late 70's so yes, we can cater for a 50+ team...

9.30 Marsa CC vs University of Portsmouth CC
1.00 University of Portsmouth vs Universtity of Aberystwyth
3.30 University of Aberystwyth vs Marsa CC

Should be a good day of cricket if anyone wants to come down and watch with a few beers

Thanks for the info on Marsa Juniors cricket, i have been in touch with Marsa Sports about joining so the wife and i can use the pool whilst the boy is cricketing.

I also mentioned to them in my email about a very good friend of mine who used to play pro Cricket for somerset with the likes of Sir Viv Richards, Sir Ian Botham, Joel garner etc (gotta love name dropping) he now coaches Youth cricket and is interested in coming over for a holiday and maybe offering a couple of coaching sessions for the kids.

You will need a proposer on your Marsa Sporys Club application form from another member that has known you for x amount of years.

...if you need a propser, I'm sure that you and I go way back
