Hi everyone im new to this site but was hoping i would be able to get some general info on Gozo.

I am 23 years old and should be moving to Gozo this August to play football for Nadur Youngsters.

Was just wanting good information about what the food is like, the people and maybe more information on the nightlife (Nightclubs & bars etc.)

Any information on what the football is like in Gozo would be helpful also, i have viewed the site gozofootball.net however.

food - mainly Southern Italian/Sicilian influenced

people - as everywhere, some bad, mainly good. Generally very welcoming if you have the right attitude

nightlife - lots of bars, not many nightclubs

football - John07900 is the expert on Gozo football - I'm sure he'll be along before long (if only to tell you that you have joined the wrong team )

No you haven’t joined the wrong team! Nadur were disappointing this season, but had a great 07/08 season. They still play good attractive football - which is always difficult on the Gozo Stadium bumpy pitch.

I have answered your e-mail, but as mentioned we prefer to answer questions on the forum so that others can benefit and join in.

Sannat Lions is the Team to be with / support. League Champions yet again and the Supporters are fantastic, good ground as well

They also have their own club bar, and pizza shop next door.

Any more info please add to this. Ive had a snoop around on the internet and seems like I will like Gozo, seems like a pretty relaxed place. Am I right in thinking this?

yep, relaxed is a good word for Gozo

If you mean in bribes like a few of the Maltese teams, the answer is nothing 8)
If you mean a little financial help from their supporters, which all teams expect, the answer is I do not know

I was told it was €30,000 or 40,000 (can't remember which). I was also told who allegedly donated it, and to whom the payment was allegedly made. No idea if true.

As I will be living in Ghajnsielem, they will get my support.

'The Blacks' are a very good team with plenty of money behind them to finance 'foreign imports'

They are a good side to watch and I am sure they will be strong contenders for the title this season.

Agree, they play good football. Not sure on the fireworks though, having seen the amazing fireworks display in Nadur a couple of weekends ago, difficult to see that being topped.

hi lads just moved to gozo victoria and will be looking for some football coaching seniors or juniors i hold the uefa b licence having managed ryman level and kent league also coached juniors at various pro clubs in kent and london any info or help please not sure of standard of footie thanks
