Hi,
Can anyone who has moved from the UK to live in NewZealnd help me with information. My wife and i, along with our two young children (3+1years old) are seeking a life changing move to NewZealand. We have researched schools/jobs etc. But would like to hear from people who have made the move already, to get an idea of what life is like living in that beautiful place. My wife is a Qualified and experienced Nurse/Health Visitor and i and currantly an house husband looking after our two children until they both reach school age.

1) Where are the best places to live?
2) Places to avoid living?
3) What are the good bits about living in NewZealand?
4) What are the bad bits about living in NewZealand?

Any any other information or advice would be most welcome.
We have sent off various paperwork/applications etc, so we are 100% going to do it, but are trying to gain as much info as poss before the move.

Many thanks to all you lucky people who are already out in NewZealand.

1) Where are the best places to live? Auckland. South of Auckland in particular. The north is not far away. To the south everything is in touching distance at most 8 hours. Of course the city itself. But awesome beaches to the east and west within 30 minutes.
2) Places to avoid living? Haven't really found any!
3) What are the good bits about living in New Zealand? Having the opportunity for our 8 and half year old son to grow up in a really safe place and for him to experience life as it should be done. People, weather, pace of life, outdoor living, fishing with the opportunity to own a boat.
4) What are the bad bits about living in New Zealand? I'm biased but I don't think there are any. We are going to sponsor my Mom and Dad (who are now on the South Island at the Franz Joseph Glacier), to stay permanently, in just over two years time so missing family isn't a problem. But the wife does miss a bloody hot curry.

We'll never go back as Britain is done for. In reality even if Britain wasn't done for we'd still rather live here.

Anymore questions just ask. P.S. You are doing the right thing although sometimes it feels daunting it all works out.

Cheers, rad

Hi I am just rying to figure out what would constitute a good wage there. We have nearly £140,000 for a house and I am hopin to work my UK Biz on the internet there. I would really like to know what we could expect as salary. I beleive my partner has been offered $NZD50,000. Could anyone give me some indication of living.
