Hello.
I am new to this forum and in fact its the first time I have posted anything in my life but a desparate situation calls for brave measures. I moved to Spain one year ago and ended up in galicia in the North West. I was working as a photographer in London previously and came here because I fell for a spanish boy. The recent spate of euro 2004 has rekindled in me a longing for pubs and cheering and jokey banter in my native tongue and I wondered if any of you knew of any social clubs or groups in this region or even someone who can fill me in on whats happening in eastenders you know, that sort of thing. Any pointers would be gratefully appreciated.... Smile

Eastenders

Thank you Cowboy builder, I shall refine my search and look for social clubs for people who need medical help. Wink .
And thanks for the welcome and link spain boy, I don't really miss eastenders I just thought that if I could catch a glimpse of the misery of the east end now and again it might give me the strength to struggle with learning my spanish past participle verbs. I shall take your advice and look for teachers.

It is beautiful in this country and the food and wine are fantastic! As you all know it's a bit wierd at first as you try to settle and nobody understands your jokes as things get lost in translation. But I guess its a challenge, more octopus anyone?

Hi poppixel

Check out the Chinwags board in our General Community Forum (link near top of page). You can find plenty of people to natter to in there. There's also Ruggie's, our virtual club, where you can have a virtual pint of anything you fancy. Very Happy See you there?

You say you were a photographer in London, so you might like our board for photographers and artists too.

Have fun!

Kay

They have their priorities sorted. We've just been out for an all you can eat (and they do!) €8 buffet which included three courses and wine......and a view of the Med! 8) 8)

Thakyou Kay for the pointers I shall go exploring.
And Not-Lorna - you're not kidding. My "mother in law" is Galician and her Sunday lunch is a seven course feast with home made wine and aquardiente and she hovers over me complaining that I don't eat enough!! Shocked 8)
