Does anyone know of a respite centre which cares for people so a family can have a break - say once a month for a couple of days. Ideally in the Alicante region.

Do you mean for the carers or the person being cared for?
I do appreciate any predicament you have as carers as my wife was a carer for over 5 years with a member of our own family.
I do not know the answer to your query about respite homes etc but are you members of your local British Legion perhaps? Each branch has a fantastic welfare department and may well be able to help or guide you on your way.
I am member of the British Legion and we have been trying to acquire a home of sorts for years here in Spain. It is an uphill strugle but with any luck this matter will be remedied in the near future.
Have you tried your local Spanish Saocial Services?

Sorry - I am actually trying to find out this information for a client of mine and didn't have the full facts when I posted.. I work as a 'property finder' and they will only move over here and buy if they can find the right care.

They are looking for a care centre for a severly handicapped person who needs care for approx. 7hrs a day.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated.
