I'd heard it was good.

Last Thursday we finally got round to registering with our village Doctor (after being here for two years). He's only here on Thursdays.

My husband told him about a condition that he had treatment for in the UK about eight years ago, but has since recurred. Doc examined, hummed, hah-ed, made appropriate notes. He said my husband needed to see a specialist.

All this was going on in our basic Spanish and his even more basic English.

Today, exactly one week later, my husband has got an appointment for the specialist. It's next week!

So, two weeks from initial registration to seeing a specialist, ....not bad hey?

Someone else told us her mother's hernia treatment was two months from diagnosis, to having an operation in hospital and coming home again.

Another friend had a minor operation within six weeks.

If Spain can do it, why can't the UK?

I heard about the good medical system that Spanish people can count on. I also heard that many Portuguese women prefer to bring to light their children in Spain because the doctors are good and the medical equipment is performant. I didn't have anyting to do with the medical system yet. I still work on learning the medical words in Spanish, just in case... [Link removed: read our guidelines] is my "teacher" for that and for all kinds of medicine I need for a headache or something else.
