can you open a bank account in portugal from england asked in barclays and they dont know :oops:

Don't know whether this will help, but found it on another forum we opened our account at BPI in VDT last December and had to produce our birth certificates as well as having a Fiscal number

Banco Espirito Santo. You can set up internet banking in English, you get a Multibanco "switch" card and cheque book, set up DD etc. We have current account fed by a deposit account automatically when it gets low.
