I just heard one of my Kiva loans was defaulted on and they only paid back $5 of the $25 loaned out. I just have to write it off as one of those things. First time for everything I guess. I see British Expat team has now donated almost $11,000 in loans, just shows what a difference a few people can make.

I suppose some defaults are inevitable, given the circumstances. One of mine defaulted too. It was for a young SE Asian guy to go to uni. He wasn't required to start paying back immediately but he didn't pay back at all. I don't know what went wrong for him.
