First 3 month's healthcare

Hello

As I understand it - new immigrants to canada cannot get any care under the OHIP for three months. We would need to have alternative healthcare or insurance cover until we had been in country for three months.

Can anyone give me any indication of the cost for immigrant's three month health care insurance. Better still - a good place to purchase the insurance online.

My wife and I are moving to the Orangeville area in Ontario in July.

Hi,

We found a company called canadasure.com that supplies health insurance for poeple moving to Canada.

I think that Bupa also offered some sort of coverage.

We got some advice from our shipping company, so maybe that is another avenue to investigate.

Thought I'd tag my query on to the end of this - does this need to be arranged before you land, or can I arrange it a few days after I'm in Canada (and willing to take the risk of a few days without medical cover)?
