Birth Control Question

Postby gortivy » Sun 28 Oct 2007 21:52 GMT

Hi,
I am traveling to NZ for a year and am worried about getting birth control in NZ. My health insurance (USA) will only let me get a six month supply to bring with me, so I may need to get birth control while in NZ. Would I need to go to a doctor to get a prescription or are there clinics for this? Once I get a prescription, do I need to revisit the doctor each month for a refill or am I all set after the initial visit? How much does it generally cost per month? (I use the patch but I don't know if is available over there...) Any info on this would be much appreciated! Thanks!

the Family Planning Association (FPA) is a great service. If you arent a NZ citizen then there is no real issue.
