UK medical records needed?

Postby Jacquie40 » Mon 8 Jun 2009 11:13 GMT

Hi - in process of emigrating, should be in Auckland by mid July (fingers crossed) - just wondering if I need to obtain copies of our UK medical records to bring with us? Thanks for any advice.

Hiya!

Welcome to the forums and good luck :-)

What route are you going through for emigration? If you are applying for visas from the UK, then you will be having your medical checks over here, so shouldn't need to take anything with you (aside from the usual things like vaccination records etc).

However, if you are applying for your visa in NZ, and have an existing condition, then it would be worth taking some form of record with you from your specialist so that the medical assessor has some more info that s/he can use when you have your doctor's assessment.

I'm applying from the UK (and haven't got to NZ yet), so don't know if you need to have anything when you first go along to a GP.

Cheers
Jo
