Happy 70th, Leonard Cohen!

Happy 70th, Leonard Cohen!

Postby Dave » Sat 17 Jul 2004 15:59 GMT

Just noticed on the BBC website that Leonard Cohen's turned 70.

It's "common knowledge" that LC writes music to slash your wrists to. Actually, a lot of his stuff is quite funny, even if the humour's very dark. Much like The Smiths, really - though their styles are very different.

Personally, I think he's great. But very quirky!

Yeah, I've always liked him. He makes me laugh and I could never really understand why people think it's music to slash your wrists to.

I agree, JaJ. :D

(BTW, my quotes cames from two different songs from the album I'm Your Man: Everybody Knows and the title track itself.)

Ah.......big big fan of LC, as a matter of fact, I have been listening to his new album "dear heather" a lot of late. Anyone remember the album "various positions" from 1984? Dance me to the end of love !
