I confess to being madly in love with Val Doonigan for years, and anything he sang was just the bees knees to me then. He had such a kind face, as well as being handsome, and I oohed over his sweaters too.

Sue, I wonder what kind of man Bill is, knowing your earlier fancies - Michael Parkinson and Val Doonican.

My all time favourite (got every one of his albumns and later on cd's) is Roy Orbison. No other singer came close, his voice was unique. We used to travel to Sheffield and the Batley Variety Club, whenever he was playing.

I even ran on stage and grabbed the tissues he'd wiped his face with. (I did wait until the curtain had gone down ) They were my prize possession, until we came to Aus, and I was brutal in getting rid of everything we didn't need.

Only likeness between Bill and the rest of my fancies, is he's ten years older than me, and he can sing :D
