Becoming an Expat

Canada here we come, all advice welcome.

Here's a forum to talk about all the ins and outs of leaving the UK and launching yourself into the wide blue yonder - selling up, saying goodbyes, all that sort of thing. NB - this is NOT for country-specific issues; please post those on the appropriate country forum.

Canada here we come, all advice welcome.

Myself and my wife have been wanting to make the move to Canada for many years now and we have finally decided to just go for it. We have decided to use some of our savings to tour Canada assisting us to decide where we would like to reside with our 2 daughters. We aim to take approx 6 months to do this giving us the opportunity to look at the work possibilities too. Any advice is welcomed expecially if you too just packed up and went without aiming to go back to the UK apart from to pack your remaining belongings.

Thanks Lee & Maxine Rudd

Hi Lee

Welcome to the BE forum and good luck with your plans.

However, this isn't the right place to post questions about Canada. As it says on the board description:

Here's a board to talk about all the ins and outs of leaving the UK and launching yourself into the wide blue yonder - selling up, saying goodbyes, all that sort of thing. NB - this is NOT for country-specific issues; please post those on the appropriate board in the In-Country Experts Forum

We have a dedicated forum full of info about Canada, so if you want to know about Canada, then please try the appropriate boards on there.

There's a link to our Canada forum at the top of every page, but here it is again for your convenience.

Please just take a little time to read before you post, because that makes it easier for everyone.
