Young, single, trainee teacher - please please help

Here's a forum to talk about all the ins and outs of leaving the UK and launching yourself into the wide blue yonder - selling up, saying goodbyes, all that sort of thing. NB - this is NOT for country-specific issues; please post those on the appropriate country forum.

Hi,

Well, firstly, I think its appropriate to descibe myself a bit first. :)

I'm a 26 year old male from Suffolk. I graduated with a Geology degree in 2004, had a career working for the government for 5 years. Decided it wasn't where I wanted my life to go, so resigned last Sept with a view to doing my PGCE. Fast forward a year to today and I am now 3 weeks into my PGCE primary years, specialising in years 1-4!

I live in a deprived, kinda sleepy, almost backwards town. (That last statement maybe abit unfair on the town :) ) All my mates have either got married, moved to London or there university towns. This isn't so much of an issue this year as I have alot of PGCE work to do! But social opportunities are kinda limited :( Anyway im rambling...

I have a real burning desire to explore, I have nothing bad to say about GB, infact it's a great country. I just can't get the dream of moving to New Zealand, Australia, Canada, USA or even Japan!!

New Zealand is my top choice, but the location is not my main reason for this post. Basically just trying to get info on typical costs of emmigrating, How hard am I going to find it on my own? Did people in similar situations join single clubs or somthing like that?

Peoples comments are welcome or suggestions for things to consider, obviously I realise that I'm a little early talking about emmigrating given that I don't even have my PGCE yet!
