Capital Gains tax in Malta

No, really... it does!
But does it matter more in Malta than at home?

Capital Gains tax in Malta

Postby Flashpacker » Tue 5 Dec 2017 17:03 GMT

Hi All,

I'm a self employed Sole Trader moving to Gozo to live in a few weeks time.

I made some investments in the UK (Cryptocurrency) about a year ago and plan to cash
them in in early in 2018 (by which time I will be living on Malta). Does
anyone know what the situation would be with Capital Gains Tax. I had read
that if living in Malta and cashing in overseas investments then there
is no capital gains tax to pay, is this the case?

Best,

Mark

yes, its true, as the tax law currently stands - capital gains made overseas are not taxable in Malta
