I have read the posts in this section and have to admit I am totally confused.I am a retired civil servant ,on a medical pension,if this was put into a bank in Malta would it be taxed.

Yes, but you will have personal allowances, and if the pension is taxed in the home country, and there is a double taxation treaty in place, then you can offset the tax already paid
