For such a small nation, Iceland has a lot of superlatives. How much do you know about this intriguing country on the north-western edge of Europe?

Hassle free banking

No, really... it does!
But does it matter more in Malta than at home?

Hassle free banking

Is it simple & easy to open a small bank account & get a credit card from the same bank with all or any of the screwing around?

For a new arrival taking up residence, are there any particular named banks that has the easy to do & good customer service?
There's loads more to see and do on British Expat— why not check out our home page?

Due to money laundering laws opening a bank account is not simple. As for getting a credit card locally , even harder, and if you get one they often insist you maintain a current account balance at least equal to your credit limit! Best is to visit banks in person to discuss your circumstances as they seem more flexible that way
