New online bus routes timetables and maps

Postby gozomark » Thu 4 Feb 2010 09:31 GMT

http://www.tal-linja.com/

This was in today's Times, and looks really good - done as a University project, by Michael Debono, a fourth-year ICT student.

Catching the right bus online
http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/vi ... bus-online

works by accessing the transport regulator's database and after the user selects his point of departure and arrival, the website displays the bus routes available, where to stop and connect to another bus and what time the buses would be leaving.

(only covers the mainland)

It looks like it's still in "Beta version", quite a few faults to be ironed out, especially with the maps, but it could be good. By chance I found this site a few days ago, it takes absolutely ages to come back with a reply, but at least it gives you the bus times as well.

tal-linja.com is pretty cool, it will definitely come in handy for me since I take the bus everywhere.

Does anyone know if the new bus routes/timetables are out. I checked on the internet and it looks as if things have not been finalised (will they ever be) :?: :?
