Gozo Ferries

Hello,
Do the ferries to Gozo ever stop running due bad weather (or any other reason)?
Just wondering what you do if you've got a plane to catch and the ferries stop! :D

Since the harbours were upgraded a few years ago, almost never (maybe a handful of ferries a year) - what does happen in bad weather is that the ferry goes the long way round Comino, adding up to 30 minutes to the journey

I think the harbour at Cirkewwa was upgraded about 10-11 years ago - can remember in 2011 no ferries for 24 hours once

Thanks,
Now I think about it, would I actually mind being stranded on Gozo and missing a plane! Probably not.
