return to u.k

Hi there,

I am seeking advice on where i stand with regard to a return.

I'm British born and hold a full u.k. passport.

I'm originall from the north of England but moved to the Channel Islands in the early 70s and spent most of my time there as a 'seasonal' worker, this enabled me to fulfil my passion for travel. Six years ago i left 'permanently' and have since worked as a volunteer in India and around Asia, surviving, for the past year, quite comefotably on my pension once my savings had dried up. I'm now considering, maybe sometime within the next year, a return to the U.K. mainland, the cost of living in the Islands would rule out a return there. Any advice on where to start the process would be apreciated, are there any government web sites that anyone could recommend. I'm single and have no living family members.

Mant thanks
