Terrible lyrics

Postby Dave » Tue 7 Apr 2009 06:53 GMT

There are some lyrics which are really cringe-inducingly bad.

While listening to a compilation put together by a friend today, I was amused to hear Esther and Abi Ofarim's "Cinderella Rockefeller" come on. Not least because it's got one of my favourite daft lyrics ever:

Esther: I love your face
Abi: It's in the right place

Anyone got any others?

Love that song, Abi Ofarim was better at yodeling than Frank Ifield,
Yodeladee, yodaladee that i love.

What about:- I looked in the sky where an elephant's eye was looking at me from a bubble gum tree and all that i knew was the hole in my shoe it was letting in water.

Love that precise descriptive term "things"

Ridiculous though the words of "Hole In My Shoe" are, I don't think that psychedelic lyrics really count - it's just an excuse to spout nonsense anyway, isn't it?

Dave, that doesn,t mean anything until you add the rest of the lyric,
"climb in the back with your head in the clouds and your gone", see perfect sense. lsd is a powerful thing. 8)
