UsVsTh3m have created a little gadget that tells you what the UK No.1 was on the day you were born and your 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th and 21st birthdays.
UsVsTh3m: What's the theme tune of your life?
I gave it a spin, and was underwhelmed with the results:
Day I was born: The Beatles, "Ticket To Ride"
12th birthday: ABBA, "Knowing Me Knowing You"
14th: Art Garfunkel, "Bright Eyes"
16th: Bucks Fizz, "Making Your Mind Up"
18th: Spandau Ballet, "True"
21st: George Michael, "A Different Corner"
They've done another for the US Billboard charts. To my surprise, the results were mostly a bit better:
Day I was born: Herman's Hermits: "Mrs Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter"
12th b'day: Glen Campbell, "Southern Nights"
14th: Blondie, "Heart Of Glass"
16th: Sheena Easton, "Morning Train (Nine To Five)"
18th: Michael Jackson, "Beat It"
21st: Robert Palmer, "Addicted To Love"
I question the premise, though. Supposing my most memorable birthday had been my 10th? Or my 13th? Or my 20th?
And what happens if (like me) you have a birthday in early May and you're cursed with a disproportionate number of Eurovision songs at No.1?
A bit of fun, but not up to UsVsTh3m's usual standards.
