56 year old wishing to emigrate/relocate

Hi

I am 56 years old and have may have a job oportunity in Australia that I would be keen to take up if it comes off. I have now done extensive research of immigration/emigration and quite understandably it almost wholly deals with people younger than me, even the skilled migration is for 45s and under.

Is there any possibility of a UK national like me with about 250,000 Australian Dollars worth of assets, moving to Australia, either as a citizen or as a UK expat and buying a house?

I know that I may be able to get a temporary visa for 4 years but would need something longer term.

If the answer is a flat no, then I can save myself and others some time.

Thank you for taking the trouble to read this - any information would be gratefully received
