“This is Anil, one of the coolies from Delhi’s Sarojini market. When you arrive at the market you’re immediately swamped by a dozen or so children offering to carry your purchases for you for ten rupees – about 13p. It’s a very precarious existence for them.
“I used to choose Anil a lot of the time when we first arrived in Delhi because he was the smallest. By the time we left three years later, he was one of the biggest.”
Kay has been an expat for over 20 years. She set up the British Expat website more than 10 years ago, whilst living in London and missing the expat life. These days she spends much of her time lugging computers and cameras around the world. (Dave gets to deal with all the really heavy stuff.)
