“Street food is an everyday fact of life in Thailand – many Thai homes don’t even have a kitchen, or at best a rudimentary one. Many Thais snack during the day rather than having set mealtimes in the Western way.
“This rice-cake vendor is always welcome down our road. The cakes come with a savoury-sweet brown sauce and are a great filler when you’re sitting chilling with a few beers. And she’s always got a cheerful smile on her face.”
