Interesting article about artificial limbs

I thought this was fascinating, both in terms of what can be achieved and also to find out how much they cost. Crikey.

There's a fascinating TED talk about artificial limbs and the quest to make them better and cheaper for 3rd world countries. It's nice to know they can make them to fit people and look so realistic as in the article above, but I'm all for cheap and useful!

Yeah, cheap and useful is what's needed in most cases. There are lots of NGO projects providing artificial limbs particularly in those countries which have a big landmine problem.

Such a small and relatively cheap piece of equipment can entirely change the recipient's life.

Must have a look out for the TED talk. Thanks for the heads up.
