Giant rat!

Postby Kay » Sat 12 Mar 2016 09:18

I see some of the British newspapers are excited to report that a giant rat was found in London. The BBC, however, takes a more calm approach and says it's just a "trick" of photography. ... t-it-seems

It reminded me of an amusing thread we had on the Malta forum some time ago when there was concern about giants rats being present there.

Mobile phones have wide angle lenses, which distort perspective if you view the image from a normal distance, making closer objects look unnaturally large. Apparently, this has led to a surge in unnecessary orthodontic work because girls think they look 'horsey' when their teeth are actually quite normal. (Portrait photographers use long focus lenses to get images that look realistic when viewed in the way we normally view photos).
