You're very welcome anyway, however you found us. :D

Some people complain that we're too strict about newbies posting links and stuff. We're friendly people really. It's just that we want to keep the place fun and useful, without loads of adverts posted by people who have no interest in joining in. (Here endeth today's rant. )

Good of you to post - will we be seeing you in Rogue's Gallery too?

Hi Brige

I'm in the 'lucky country', or Australia, whichever you believe.

We're still getting the high temperatures of summer during the days, but as we've just gone into autumn there's a slight nip in the air early mornings and nights. It's much more comfortable for sleeping.

how did I find britishexpat ?

Postby derechterdanny » Sun 11 Mar 2007 18:52

I was (still am) trying to find 'ring of bright water' written by G. Maxwell, and found 'ring of bright otters' by M. Clark. It was well written, so I followed the link to britishexpat, and enjoyed the humor of this site.
 I do apologise, think I have been very rude, although I've read the guidelines, I should have introduced myself properly before posting yesterday .. felt like intruding a nice cosy livingroom, and giving you all a scare ; sorry about that, I'm a beginner on the Internet, and well known for my 'first act-then think' but I promise to do better ..

Hi and welcome to BE.

We want people to join in, and what better place to start? Obviously, although this is all new to you, you didn't drop any big clangers, else you would hear about it

Look forward to hearing more about you.

Newbie

Postby britrose » Fri 23 Mar 2007 18:57

Hiya,
I'm a newbie as well. Just joined yesterday. I just typed in British expats and this site came up. I've been in the States nearly 21 yrs. and still get homesick. Try to go "home" every 4-5 yrs. if possible. Will be there in June for a couple of weeks.
Looking forward to meeting people in here.
Karen.
