New-look Newsletter

Postby Dave » Mon 18 Aug 2003 13:28 GMT

This week we've taken the plunge and relaunched our newsletter as an in-house operation. We'd like to know what you think of it - was the move long overdue, or should we have left well alone? Should we be including different features? Please let us know!

Thanks, Squiffs. I thought it was long enough without the joke and quote, and we have plenty of these in the HOF. Mind you, not every newletter reader visits the forum, so maybe we should put them back in. Let's see if we get any other comments.

Now I know I should have signed up for it back in the year dot (I think I did, actually, but much techy water has passed under the bridge).

So I signed up again a few weeks back.

Still haven't seen anything.

Hey, I'll be there commenting on the Newsletter if I ever see one!

Miss the joke, the world needs more laughter! I giggle and then tell my husband (who normally gets them) who in turn goes to work (and no one gets them!)

Clearly we're not "pushing" the newsletter enough. Although there is a sign-up box on the L-H column of every page of the website (excluding the forum).

Some websites automatically add all their contacts - but that seems pretty much like Spam to us so we don't do it. The result is that we have a mailing list a fraction of the size of some others.

I've even been plugging the newsletter in my signature here for a few days.

All you have to do is go to our "Facilities" page (link below in sig) add your email address and click the "Do It Now" button. You can unsub at any time via an equally simple process. If anyone wants me to send a copy of what we just sent out, please let me know. If you need the name to add to your Spam filter it's newsletterATbritishexpat.com (replacing the AT with @)

BTW, it looks like we should include at least a joke in future, if not a joke and quote.

Thanks for the feedback
