RIP Cheetah?

Postby Dave » Wed 28 Dec 2011 14:46 GMT

According to this BBC story, an animal sanctuary in Florida is claiming that the original Cheetah from the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan films has just died, aged 80.

Pretty amazing, if true, since chimps typically live to about 40.

Then again, there are so many ifs and buts about the story that it's hard not to assume it's just a bit of fluff the BBC have put in to spark a "Well, I never" response. OK, BBC, you got me. Well done. :|
