Advice on relocating to Sulaymaniyah ?

Postby Max001 » Thu 15 Apr 2010 16:52

Hi

Am a Brit, considering a long term contract for an MNC, initially based in
Sulaymaniyah. Would welcome your advice/comments/experiences
of working here or in this area as an expat.

Cheers

Hiya Martin

Thanks for getting in touch. Apparently I'm not allowed to PM cause I'm not a 'regular member'. FUBAR.
But, I made a balls of my interview (haven't had to interview for years!)so won't be coming to Suli any time soon, which is a pity cause from your response, it seems I may be missing out. Whats meant to be, won't pass you by eh :)

Very best, mate

If both of you had read the posting guidelines before posting, you'd already have known that you wouldn't be able to PM - and the reasons why. Not least, it stops people joining up and spamming via PM, something our users have complained about in the past. So I think, Max, your FUBAR comment is ill-judged at best, if not plain rude.

In any case, why the secrecy? Post once in public and everyone can benefit from the information; PM it and you'll only have to PM it again the next time someone asks. I can understand that some things might need to remain private for security reasons, but surely not general stuff about what the place is like to live and work in?

As it happens, I too have lived in Sul and enjoyed my time there. But I chose not to answer because it was such a long time ago (early 1990s) and my info would most likely be out of date by now.

Anyway, it does seem rather rude to show up here and almost immediately complain that the place is no good because it's not all run to suit you. Do we owe you something? We don't. So please don't behave as though we do.

Oh dear, did I catch you girls at the time of the month? Got our panties in a twist haven't we  The big bad world must be a terribly harsh place for those with such thin skins. Next time, you might choose to swallow, instead of spitting

You don't have to be a testosterone-filled idiot to live and work in N. Iraq, you know.

What's your problem?

You've come onto a forum and discovered it's not all run to suit you, so now you want to slag off the owners and admins and make personal attacks about women and menstrual problems.

If I don't like a website, I simply click away. Why don't you? As I said, do we owe you something? Why act as though we do?
