A quick Hello from this male Brit in Las Vegas Nevada

Having found this forum I thought I'd introduce myself.

My name is Tripp (short for tripple). I live in Sin City (and yes it's ALL true what they say about Vegas). I am a motorcycle riding guitar player.
Although I don't drink, smoke, eat bad food, gamble or have call girls come to my door I fit in quite nicely here in Vegas. I just miss having conversations with people who use more than one sylable words
I miss England bigtime, although I don't miss the English weather
(Vegas has perfect motorcycle weather).

I'm originally from Guildford, Surrey (about 30 miles outside London).
I got the itch to travel, so at 19 so I went off to Africa (Cape Town) and have travelled the planet for 20 years. I decided to settle in Las Vegas USA where I have a house/home. I would love to hear from any Brits on the west coast especially any Brits in Las Vegas.

I'm not in Vegas I'm afraid, although have been there quite a few times (was there last year), but thought I'd say hi.

I'm a motorcycle riding piano, organ, flute, saxophone, bass guitar, harmonica ex-pro player from Essex.

I envy you being over there in Nevada. I'm in Savannah, GA. NOT perfect motorcycle country
Boring, slow, long interminable roads crawling with tax collectors (you know, the kind with the radar guns). What's your current mount? (never thought I'd ever ask that question on this forum )

When I first came over here, I bought a GL1500 goldwing - yuk, felt like driving a truck, sold it after 3 weeks. Then had a BMW K1200RS. Loved it, but so did the cops - it had to go before my license did.
For the past couple of years I've had the best of both worlds and bought one of the new GL1800 Goldwings. Plenty of comfort for the boring slow parts and will still do 0-60 faster than a Lamborghini Diablo! Weeeee!

Anyhoo, just thought I'd say "hi" right back at ya and welcome.

Hey Alan, thanks for replying to my post.

Sounds like you're quite an accomplished musician. I'm wondering if you have/are playing with any people I might have heard of.
I've been taking lessons/playing for about 2 yrs with the ex-lead guitarist from the Temptations (Cory). I take a lesson over at his studio once a week and I'm getting close to start recording some 'stuff' and being part of a band of some kind. Cory's setting something up.

So you ride the new Honda GL1800 Goldwing WOW! that's one hell of a nice machine. My ride is a 03 Blurple Honda 1800 VTX Classic. I'm running w/ V+H Bigshots w/ no baffles so she sounds like a big 'o' rumblin' rocket. She handles very well, lots of power and a talking point where-ever I go. I ride most days around town and go up in the mountains often with the local VTX bikers. We have some hide away biker bars that are packed on the weekends and most have live music.

Hi Tripp,
I would love to have been able to just travel around for all that time. I wondered how you managed to get residency in the States? I would love to move to California but none of the options for residency seem open to me. I dont have any family there, I'm a driving instructor/freelance writer so cant go over there on a business visa and I'm just so gutted as It is my dream to live there...
How did you get to stay there?

Hi Tripp,

Im here in Vegas and from good old England! (well the north east near Newcastle so we may still have trouble with languauge).

I have only been here around a month so im just settling in (and waiting for the weather to heat up).

Im impressed with your travelling my friend and I wont hold it against you being a southerner. However, you wont get me on a bike! Came off one (well just a scooter really) while in Thailand a few years ago (wasn't even very drunk either). Since then I vowed never to get back on board another!

Hi Tripp & all others reading...

2 things about Brits in Las Vegas. First, there's a massive party being cooked up for all of us UK Expats in town. It takes place on 30th April at the Alexis Park Hotel and it's free. (You have to buy your own drinks but British food and entertainment are laid on and won't cost you a penny.)
