New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island

Atlantic coast or Pacific coast? Prairies or cities? So many choices in a country of Canada's size... why not post here and discuss the options with others?

Hi, we are looking for infoe on these two provinces as these arre on our shortlist, does anyone have experience of them in terms of jos - we are a nurse and a teacher (adult) and in terms of house prices they seem reasonable but are the areas good. How about schooling we have 2 children 1 will be nine by the time we land and the other just 2, anyway any info/advice would be very welcome, thanks

Hi Buffy... Have not been to these places myself, but interestingly enough was speaking to a doctor from PEI just last week
She says she loves it there, but even having grown up there, she had to move away asvshe felt it was so isolated. She is now working in Halifax and is very happy there. In terms of jobs in new brunswick, my husband is an architect and I am a nurse. There are always nursing jobs around, but interestingly, it was one of the few places that was positive about the architure jobs too and actually bothered to reply to emails and sent resumes. My impression was there is still a bit happening there despite the recession.
We decided against it in the end and have opted for halifax instead.
Good luck and hope all goes well for you.
Keep us all posted and let us know how your search is going!

Hi both

I've split off your personal chat and shifted it to the Making New Friends/Socialising board. By all means feel free to chat, but it's best kept on the chat boards, rather than the info boards where it can make it hard to separate the info from the chat. :-)

Cheers
