Looks like we have a few photographers and artists in our midst so here's a place to talk about all photography, art, and related subjects.

PoTW submission - lodge modelled on bushman dwelling

Mountain Lodge

Naries Namakwa Lodge, Springbok, Northern Cape, South Africa, has several different kinds of accommodation. This is one of the Mountain lodges, perched on the edge of a scarp looking towards the Atlantic coast. They are thatched over a steel frame, with existing rocks integrated into the interior layout. The concept comes from a bushman dwelling built on a wattle frame. The motorbike is the cleaner's transport.

Great. Very interesting, thanks. We're always looking for good new photos. We'll definitely be using that one!

Just out of interest, what sort of amenities and facilities did it have inside?

Picasaweb

Here's a whole collection of pics. The first 8 are the main house, and somehow a few out-of-sequence pics of Canyon Lodge got in and I can't delete them.

The net is for catching geckos. Some guests were spraying them with insecticide...

Dunno whether it's a temporary thing, but on CanDoCanGo when I click on the link that's meant to show the comment, it just hangs waiting for the ad server.

I think it must have been temporary, Ruggie - AS or Doubleclick taking a little while to load and delaying the bottom of the page.
