living in florida for 6 months a year

Postby sue lomas » Thu 23 Oct 2008 12:14 GMT

Hi all
Hope someone can help us. We're thinking of spending up to six months a year in Florida - we already have a house there. I'd like to know about health insurance - can we be covered on a UK travel insurance policy for this length of time as I've read somewhere else or do we need to obtain insurance in Florida. Also we'd like to buy a car - is this easy - what about insurance and do we need a Florida driving licence to do this. If so, how easy is it to get one.
Hope someone can help.
Hopeful
