Please can you help me?

I have invited my fiancee over from Jakarta to come for a holiday to
England, and need to ask a couple of questions.

Statement to show them she has enough money 40 to 50 million Rupiah so she can support herself in England. But I went to the Home office in england and they said she does not need to show her own bank statement. Can you please tell me who is correct the Home Office here or the British Embassy in Jakarta?

Yes, usually people in embassy does that...
not only your embassy, in US embassy, taiwan embassy and some other.. because they affraid that after get the visa, the person didn't return & try to find job in that country (as illegal worker)
