HELP!!! Walkie Talkies forbidden?

Hi, s.o. told me that it is forbidden to bring walkie talkies into the uae and that they are confiscated at the airport. Is tat true?

Does anyone have experience regarding that topic?
I wanted to buy a whole set and bring it back to Dubai after Christmas... But I'd have to order today or tomorrow the very latest in order to get it still before I go home.
