Kay adds:

“Street food is an everyday fact of life in Thailand – many Thai homes don’t even have a kitchen, or at best a rudimentary one. Many Thais snack during the day rather than having set mealtimes in the Western way.

“This rice-cake vendor is always welcome down our road. The cakes come with a savoury-sweet brown sauce and are a great filler when you’re sitting chilling with a few beers. And she’s always got a cheerful smile on her face.”

About Kay McMahon

Kay has been an expat for nearly 30 years. She set up the British Expat website back in early 2000, whilst living in London and missing the expat life. These days she spends much of her time lugging computers and cameras around the world. (Dave gets to deal with all the really heavy stuff.)
