We have a commitment to information security and undertake various measures for the purpose of protecting against unauthorised or unlawful processing of personal data and against loss or destruction of or damage to personal data.
The company directors deal with the security of information and personal data. They are both aware of the importance of personal data and security and confidentiality of information obtained.
The company directors control physical security in relation to the information and personal data that are contained on their computers. They restrict access to the equipment where unauthorised access by people could compromise security.
All proprietary or confidential information, including personal data, is contained on computer and any that are contained and stored on manual files are locked up and secure.
British Expat Ltd does not yet have a business continuity plan as a contingency plan, which identifies its business functions and assets (including personal data) which would need to be maintained in the event of disaster and set out the procedures for protecting and restoring them if necessary. However, the directors are endeavouring to put such a plan in place.
The directors are aware of information security issues relating to the Data Protection Act 1998. Although the directors believe that, at this time, British Expat Ltd is exempt from registration, they have registered voluntarily (10 March 2003).
