EasyJet to launch Liverpool to Lyon flights

EasyJet will provide a new link between North West England and southern France later this year with the launch of flights to Lyon from Liverpool John Lennon airport.

The service is set to get underway on 18 December and will provide access to a destination that is popular for summer and winter breaks alike.

Lyon will be the fourth French destination served by EasyJet from Liverpool, joining Paris, Bordeaux and Nice.

Robin Tudor, head of PR for Peel Airports, said: “Lyon and its surrounding areas form the second largest metropolitan area in France after that of Paris and this new route should prove popular not only for north-west passengers but also for French visitors now able to fly low cost direct to Liverpool for the first time.”

Ali Gayward, EasyJet’s UK commercial manager, said the airline was planning further expansion from Liverpool, which he described as a key base.

Travellers can also catch flights to Lisbon, Barcelona, Dubrovnik and Krakow from the airport.
