British Expat Newsletter:
September 2010
Hello, and welcome to those of you who have just signed up. And to those of you who signed up some time ago and haven’t been receiving anything from us – our apologies. We’ve been busy revamping the BE website to make it more useful for you, so please do forgive our lack of recent communications.
In this issue
- This month: BE update and request for feedback
- Bizarre Searches
- This month’s sponsor: British Corner Shop
- Win a £25 Amazon voucher! [competition closed 6 October 2010]
This month
We have lots of new things for you, as well as a new navigation system to help you find your way around the vast amount of unique content which we have on the BE website. That’s what sets us apart from the competition – our huge bank of top quality, interesting and useful articles. And there are plenty more to come! We’ve even brought some new columnists on board. Don’t miss out!
One big change that may interest you is that you can also comment directly on our articles, including the newsletters, on the website. It’s all much more interactive now, and we have plenty of other new things planned… but I’m not going to tell all here in case our competitors are spying on us.
As for the newsletter itself, we’re changing it to monthly (yes, really!) rather than weekly (which we’d kinda given up on anyway). We really do value your feedback, so please do write to us. Let us know what you think!
We’ll probably be keeping some of the most popular features of the old-format newsletter, such as the editorial and the bizarre searches, but most likely things will change a bit. Please help us to give you what you want by letting us know what it is you want! We do our best, but we’re not great at reading the minds of all our readers on this big planet.
Did you find the editorials interesting? They used to be about all sorts of things – the history of salt, child sex tourism, the Terra Nova expedition, accents, anything really – and people used to say they found them interesting and enjoyed them.
Then we had the Virtual Snacks, which were links for your interest or amusement to websites relevant to the editorial content.
Do you want us to continue with the Bizarre Searches?
We used to end every newsletter with a quote and joke when possible and appropriate to the subject of the newsletter.
Is there anything new or different you’d like to see included in our newsletter?
Please help by giving us some feedback –
you can comment here!
(And win a £25 Amazon voucher! [Edit: competition closed 6 October 2010])
Meanwhile, I know that many of you enjoyed the bizarre searches, so here are a few to keep you amused.
