A flamenco dancer whirls mid-performance.

Dave adds:

“We were lucky enough to visit the Pavilions private pool villa hotel in Phuket last autumn for the launch of their Passions programme. One of the Passions they showcased for us was dance, and they’d flown in a very talented set of performers to demonstrate flamenco – two Argentinian dancers and a Spanish guitarist.

“I wanted to capture the sense of movement, so I turned off the flash, slowed the exposure down to 1/30th of a second and upped the ISO setting to 1000. The darkened room and spotlights helped, of course.”
