British Expat Newsletter: February 2016

Hello, and welcome to those of you who have recently signed up.

In this issue

This month

Despite having an extra day due to the Leap Year, February flew past. Perhaps it helped that we took off to Malta for a week. Here’s our news about the latest additions to the BE website. (You’ll find links to all of them under ‘Recent articles’ in the sidebar on the right.)

Even though it was a short month, we’ve added some great new content for you. The first is a “Take Five” from Bangkok-based writer Ken Barrett. For those who don’t know, “Take Five” is our series of interviews where we ask expats to answer five simple questions. You can find more of our collection here. Please get in touch if you’d like to be featured!

We also added a quick quiz about Japan. How much do you know about the Land of The Rising Sun? Try our quiz and find out.

We had an enjoyable week attending a cartooning conference in Malta. If you’re planning a holiday to Malta, perhaps for a recce visit, you might like to read our review of the hotel we stayed in. It was a pretty good hotel in many ways – but not if you have reduced mobility. That said, we were delighted with the view and the food was pretty good.

We took advantage of our holiday snaps to add a new Pic of the Week. This one’s of the Azure Window in Gozo – on a grey and cloudy day, just to make a change from the usual blue sky depictions. We tell it like it is!

As usual, the BE forum provides information on a wide range of expat issues, as well as the opportunity to socialise with like-minded people all around the world. Join in the fun here!
