Nick Wetzel talks about his life as the proprietor of the Pickled Liver, one of Bangkok’s most successful British pubs.
“OK, so to a certain extent Delaney’s is a typical Oirish pub. But it’s a pretty good bar in its own right, with very friendly and helpful staff who are happy to engage in a bit of banter with the customers.” Kay and Dave sink a few pints, and scoff a couple of decent pub meals, at Delaney’s in the Federal Hotel, Bukit Bintang.
“The bar has a pleasant ambience, and you can sit looking out at the sea. We decided to stay on for a beer or two and ordered half a dozen sticks of chicken satay just to keep us going until dinner time. This was beautifully presented and tasted delicious.” Kay and Dave review the well-appointed and surprisingly affordable Farquhar’s Bar at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang.

Here’s a brief review of a couple of eating and drinking places we’ve visited which have stood out from the rest. One of them, unfortunately, for the wrong reasons.” Some of the best places to eat and drink in the London Borough of Sutton – and one of the worst.
“When we were forced to return to the UK in May 2005 but had nowhere to move into, we decided to spend the first couple of weeks in Worthing. We enjoyed it so much that, once we finally did get our house back, we went back down for a couple of nights when we were fed up of redecorating.” Dave on where to eat, drink and sleep in Worthing.
